Lizzie Stevenson, MS, LMFT

Co-Founder | Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist | Discernment Counselor

Lizzie Stevenson is a therapist and discernment counselor who works with couples, individuals, and families who feel stuck in painful relational patterns, often exhausted from the same fight over and over and struggling to feel close, safe, or truly understood. Many of her clients deeply love their partners and families but find themselves caught in cycles of criticism, withdrawal, anxiety, or emotional distance.

Using an attachment-based and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) approach, Lizzie helps couples slow down reactive cycles and understand the deeper emotions underneath them, moving toward greater emotional safety and secure connection. She also offers Discernment Counseling for couples uncertain about their future, and has extensive experience with affair recovery, trust ruptures, divorce transitions, co-parenting stress, and blended family dynamics.

Lizzie holds a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy and brings more than 20 years of clinical experience, including private practice, community mental health, and university teaching in child development. Her warm, attuned, and direct style helps clients experience real shifts in how they connect with themselves and the people they love.

Martha Heywood

Certified Mediator | Co-Founder

Martha Heywood is a certified mediator, experienced leader, and business executive with a strong background in transaction analysis, proposal development, project and product management, operations, and corporate development. With a strategic mindset and results-driven approach, she helps leaders, organizations, and families navigate complex challenges while sharpening their decision-making capabilities.

Throughout her career, Martha has been recognized for her integrity, ethics, and principled leadership. She has contributed to the design of organizational structures and policies, consistently aligning strategy with execution to drive sustainable growth. Her ability to unite diverse viewpoints and build consensus has made her a trusted collaborator and advisor during times of transition and change.

At Stevenson Heywood Group, Martha combines her extensive business expertise with her passion for mediation and leadership development, which also translates into divorce and co-parenting mediation.

Martha’s commitment to empowering others is at the heart of her work. She equips leaders and parents with tools that align with their values, strengthen relationships, and enable them to lead with confidence—helping them not only resolve immediate challenges but also build a foundation for long-term effectiveness and resilience.
