Lizzie Stevenson, MS, LMFT
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist | Discernment Counselor | Co-Founder
Lizzie Stevenson is a therapist and discernment counselor who works with couples, individuals, and families who feel stuck in painful relational patterns, often exhausted from the same fight over and over and struggling to feel close, safe, or truly understood. Many of her clients deeply love their partners and families but find themselves caught in cycles of criticism, withdrawal, anxiety, or emotional distance.

Using an attachment-based and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) approach, Lizzie helps couples slow down reactive cycles and understand the deeper emotions underneath them, moving toward greater emotional safety and secure connection. She also offers Discernment Counseling for couples uncertain about their future, and has extensive experience with affair recovery, trust ruptures, divorce transitions, co-parenting stress, and blended family dynamics.

Lizzie holds a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy and brings more than 20 years of clinical experience, including private practice, community mental health, and university teaching in child development. Her warm, attuned, and direct style helps clients experience real shifts in how they connect with themselves and the people they love.

Martha Heywood is a certified mediator, experienced leader, and business executive with a strong background in transaction analysis, proposal development, project and product management, operations, and corporate development. With a strategic mindset and results-driven approach, she helps leaders, organizations, and families navigate complex challenges while sharpening their decision-making capabilities.

Throughout her career, Martha has been recognized for her integrity, ethics, and principled leadership. She has contributed to the design of organizational structures and policies, consistently aligning strategy with execution to drive sustainable growth. Her ability to unite diverse viewpoints and build consensus has made her a trusted collaborator and advisor during times of transition and change.

Sarah Kokkeler

Sarah Kokkeler is a certified mediator and operations professional with a background in client experience, hospitality operations, workplace coordination, vendor management, community outreach, and executive support.
She brings a steady, relationship-centered approach to her work and is often the person helping keep details, people, and priorities moving in the same direction.
Throughout her career, Sarah has been known for listening closely, anticipating needs, and bringing calm, practical judgment to busy or sensitive situations. Her experience coordinating schedules, projects, staff priorities, and day-to-day operations has made her a trusted support for teams and leaders during times of growth, transition, and change.
At Stevenson Heywood Group, Sarah supports administrative, personnel, client-service, communication, and business priorities while helping leadership stay focused on clinical , counseling and mediation services.

Couples and Individual Therapist
Elon Slutsky is a therapist who works with couples and individuals navigating relationship difficulties, life transitions, anxiety, depression, and the pressures that can accompany demanding professional and personal lives. With couples, he often works with partners who care deeply about one another and are genuinely trying, but find that attempts to connect repeatedly turn into criticism, withdrawal, defensiveness, or disappointment.
​
Drawing primarily from Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Schema Therapy, and mindfulness-based approaches, Elon helps clients slow down recurring patterns and understand what is happening underneath them. In couples work, sessions are active and relational: partners practice communicating directly with one another, with Elon helping them recognize the emotions, needs, and protective strategies that can make connection difficult. His individual work similarly combines insight with experiential approaches to help clients understand established patterns and make deliberate changes aligned with their values.

Before becoming a therapist, Elon practiced law at large national firms and taught law, experience that particularly informs his work with attorneys, physicians, academics, executives, and other high-achieving professionals. He earned his counseling degree from Northwestern University, his J.D. from Cornell Law School, and his undergraduate degree from Amherst College. He was also a Fulbright Fellow conducting research related to psychotherapy and well-being. Elon is a trained mediator and has completed specialized training in collaborative divorce through Colorado Collaborative Divorce Professionals.
